To better prepare you for your portrait photo session, I’ve put together some recommendations that I think might be helpful.
Start drinking water today. And rest up. At least days leading to your shoot.
Consider wearing something new, as some of your existing outfits might have faded colors, etc. More importantly, try your outfits well in advance of the shoot. You want something that fits you perfectly.
Keep in mind that bare arms and shoulders grab attention. If you’re not comfortable showing your arms, I’d avoid sleeveless altogether.
Darker colors are slimming. Ultimately, you should wear what you feel comfortable in.
Guys should wear a snug v-neck undershirts. Especially if you sweat a lot. V-neck because a general rule is to not show your undershirt.
Prevent wrinkles. If there’s a potential for wrinkles, just dress up when you arrive.
Manicures are recommended- for both men and women.
Shave before the shoot. Trim nose and ear hair.
Get your make up done professionally, if possible. If you elect to do it yourself, I’d suggest going for a natural look. I’ve found that over the counter makeovers usually don’t come of looking natural.
Get your haircut done a day or two before the shoot, if possible.
Please eat. Hangry is real!
