another birthday! thank GOD! it’s so good to be alive!!

another year to worry less and smile more

another year of taking pictures of incredibly wonderful people

another year to act on impulse

another year to accept criticism and move ahead

also…i’d like to take the opportunity to say a big hearty THANK YOU to the folks that allowed me to document their lives. photographs are very important, and it means a lot to me capture your events and portraits.

be self out there…as the world celebrates the day i was born ;-)

and as you enjoy the world cup today and the next 30 days or so, think of me ;-)

canon 5d, so hard to let you go

i’ve been going through some withdrawals…so to speak. since i bought the canon 5d Mark II, i essentially stopped using my good ‘ol canon 5d. it’s been a great camera (and it still is!), and it’s very hard for me to sell or trade it in. but we must part ways.

i took it for a final usage last week at a very dark concert with celia of les nubians at the bohemian caverns, and i’m amazed at how incredible the camera really is. {photo-geek alert!!!} these are some of the images shot at 1600 ISO, with a 50 1.4 lens. all available light

thanks for the memories canon 5d…i’ll be using your your sister very well. promise.

another quarter begins, goals revisited

i can’t believe we’ve gone through 3 months this year already. april fools day is a great reminder that i need to revisit my goals for the year, and make sure i’m on track and/or need to add more. it’s been a quiet year so far. well, not really…just on the wedding photography end (that will change in a couple of weeks, and i’m very excited).

one of my goals is to make this a blog where I share more than just business, and share some things going on in my personal life, i’ll use this year to see how that works out. so stay tuned to know all about me :-) and i hope that doesn’t offend anyone.

this is no april fool’s. i enjoy telling stories- mine and others.

and because i mostly read blogs that have pictures (LOL), here’s one frame of Uche from her wedding with Lekan in atlanta last year.

this weekend’s snow blast was a blessing in disguise- i finally worked on my blog and have it up and running. my old blog had some technical issues that (somehow) couldn’t be fixed.

anyway…i hope everyone, particularly folks in the d.c. area, got a chance to play outside. i know i did. so did lola.
